Megan Buckley is the Director of the Emergency Management Agency. The Director is a full time position developing an efficient and effective disaster prevention, preparedness, response and recovery system for Johnson County. She directs the emergency management organization and is principle adviser for the County Board and to the City/Village councils in disaster matters.

THE EMA DIRECTOR:

Is responsible for the day to day administration and operation of the agency under the overall direction of the County Board. This includes all work related to disaster management and the management of hazardous materials.

Is responsible for the promulgation and maintenance of the Local Emergency Operations Plan for the County and all of the LEOP annexes including hazardous materials.

Is responsible for considerable public relations on a regular basis. Work involves exercise of considerable independent judgment in situations where course action is not always obvious.

Promotes the accomplishment of the major objectives of the emergency management program of Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery within the county to include: Protecting Life, Save Lives and Property, Support Recovery, Achieve Emergency Operations Capability, and Provide Support.​
